Parents, please encourage your student to complete recommended IXL lessons

(Note:  these lessons align with our textbook)

 

6th Math

Monday:   Flocabulary:  Percents – watch video together and then complete the 3 activites

               Finish reviewing percents – change from decimals to percent, percent to decimals. Text pages 196-198

               Lesson 5.6 worksheet, #106  1-45

               If there is time, start lesson 5.7 – comparing and ordering fractions, decimals, and percents.

               Hand out note pages on comparing and ordering – Textbook pages 202-204

              

Tuesday:     cut paper chain pieces – begin ordering the pieces. (number them)       

                  Lesson 5.7 – comparing and ordering Textbook pages 204-206 (making each a decimal makes it easier to compare and order)

                  Complete worksheet 5.7, pg 110

                  Glue chains together

                  If time permits- begin lesson 5.8, percent lessons.  – textbook pages 206-210

 

Wednesday:   Foldable – cut out

                    Lesson 5.8 Percent lessons – finding percent of…

                    Textbook pg 206-210

                    Worksheet 5.8 #114

                    If time permits- begin lesson 5.9 Textbook pages 214-218 Converting measurements

                    Make sure students have notes page – the one with area formulas  

Thursday:   Minute math #45, record answers on assistments.org

                 Lesson 5.9 – converting measures, Textbook pages 214-218,

                 Worksheet 5.9, #118

                 Mini sheets on equivalent decimals, fractions, and percents

                 Review Chap. 5, pgs 223 – 227

Friday:   Minute math #46, 

             More Chp 5, review – Send home worksheet Test form B- complete at home, also get parents signature, for bonus

       

Reading For Pleasure

Monday:   Read aloud to class –  Rules

               The students will have a snap story page to use to illustrate the book

               Read together – The Cay, discuss/summarize

Tuesday:   Read aloud to class –  Rules 

                Discuss The Cay 

           

 Wednesday: Read aloud to class – Rules

                   Free Reading time – read their own books

Thursday: Read aloud to class –  Rules

               The Cay – read from book together – students led reading

Friday:  Read aloud to class – Rules
